The value of this almost an hour and a half long concert reveals with a discovery of the fascinating world of sounds that can be enticed from classical and occasional percussions, with the carefully selected heterogeneous program, and with high professional qualifications of the two Slovenian artists. Their performance was an ideal union of a perceptible dedication to music and youthful relaxation which has in turn led to a top-level artistic experience in an adequately selected ambience.

Each act matched the gravity of the one before it and Slovenian Percussion Duo Simon Klavžar and Jože Bogolin were no exception. On tandem Adams Percussion Instruments, their first piece began in a soft rumble before bursting into splashing mallet rhythms punctuated by otherworldy, space-age resonances. At times you couldn't hear mallet beats as the Klavžar and Bogolin teased hums and moans out of the instruments in almost dueling harmonies. For the second time in the show, sound literally surrounded you as tones from the stage reverberated from Zankel Hall's wooden walls.

The culmination of the evening was a recital of the Slovenian Percussion Duo, the members of which are exceptional young musicians Simon Klavžar and Jože Bogolin. They presented themselves with an extensive program for percussion duo, playing compositions in the spectrum from baroque and impressionistic compositions to several contemporary ones. They demonstrated exceptionally expressive and dramatic interpretations.
